Do you lack the confidence needed to move forward on your God-given purpose? Has life thrown you a curve ball thereby loosing your sense of confidence in your gifts and abilities? I hear ya. I was there just 3 years ago.
Just this week I was speaking to a coaching client who desires to move on some of her goals and dreams but something is standing in the way – CONFIDENCE! She said, “I never finish anything I start.”
After listening I offered a suggestion “to find the win in her day.” What I mean by that is find a point of her day where she can say that is a win.
For example, I dropped my kids off on time.
I choose to eat healthy at lunch today.
I called back that person I was avoiding.
I spoke with my manager about a concern.
I cleaned up that pile of papers in the kitchen.
I took a shower today. (Mothers of babies get this one)
And so on….
So, instead of finding all the evidence that you are a failure start being conscious about where you are winning so to change what you are focusing on to create new evidence. This new evidence builds our faith thereby building our God confidence.
One of the best ways to start creating new evidence is to try something new like training and completing a 5K or half marathon. I mentioned this suggestions to my client to have her whole family join together to train for a 5k in her area.
These are the some wins she will create by taking on this new challenge.
1. She begins to move and build her body to be healthy.
2. She has time spent with her family.
3. She is an example to them and others watching.
4. They acknowledge and encourage each other’s strengths and wins.
4. They build confidence for other challenges in the future.
5. They build a memory as a family.
6. They all create evidence that they can start and finish something.
Wow, now that is a WIN-WIN!!!
You might not be into running a 5K but how about working at a soup kitchen or learning ballroom dancing. How about a family mission trip next summer. Lots of ideas you can do if you are open to God using it in your life.
The equation goes like this:
New Challenge + New Evidence = Renewed Confidence
or God wanting to do something new in you and you choosing to step into it will build new evidence leading to renewed confidence. It really does work!!!
I’m living proof of this concept but I didn’t realize it at the time. I just knew God wanted me to walk away from the hamster wheel and be still and know He is God at the end of 2009. So I did and at the same time I began to be in His word like never before in my life while I was also training for my first half marathon.
Let me encourage you today to find your win so to build some new evidence and confidence!!
What was your win today?
Share on the comments. I would love to celebrate them with you.
