While in the middle of working on a project or task, do you ever lose sight of the bigger picture or purpose for why you are doing what you are doing?
Well, recently I forgot. I forgot my “Real Why.”

I was reminded of my purpose while as I was finishing up reading “Redeeming Love” by Francine Rivers. I closed the book this past Wednesday late morning and proceeded to cry for an hour. I cried because so much of this story is my story – and it’s your story too.
AND… it’s God story because He is the One that redeems us from our pasts, our failures, our shame.
What broke my heart was the pain, torture and guilt that victims of abuse put themselves through to feel worthy, loved and needed in a world that will never satisfy. I am passionate to reach out to these women to see them find real healing and purpose.
Moreover, I am moved to support sexual abuse prevention education. A couple of my friends are finishing up the process with a group called Darkness to Light and I will be coming alongside them to support them.
What is the mechanism that will create these God-sized miracles to see 1 million or more women healed from past abuse? I believe with all my heart that God has set a path to see that “It is Finished” Weekend of Wins is that mechanism.
How is it the mechanism? Let me take you on the journey.
-
January 2011 – God used a race - a full marathon to help me heal. I write about that journey in my book “Copying is the Highest Form of Compliment” Giving Others Permission to Follow Your Lead. You can purchase it here or read more. http://www.amazon.com/Copying-Highest-Form-Compliment-Permission/dp/1475175884/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1335912379&sr=1-1

January 2011 – God led me to become an experiential seminar facilitator so I could design a weekend that would support women in moving forward in their lives, and moving OUT of their darkness.
-
April 2011 – During a leadership seminar, I wrote out a purpose statement that I felt was spoken into my heart by God to bring healing to victims of sexual abuse and give them His love.
-
January 2012 – God put the desire in my heart to take a whole bunch of women to a half marathon/5K in November 2012.
-
March 2012 - I saw how God could make the race more than just a race but an opportunity to move these women from mediocrity to becoming confident women of God through a 2 day experiential seminar training before and after the race to apply it to their lives.
-
May 2012 – God wants more! Not just a one time event but an endless amount of opportunities to take this powerful life transforming weekend around the world. Half marathons and 5Ks happen everywhere!
-
June 2012 – Participants create their “why!” What does this race journey represent? How will they feel when they cross the finish line? What does it mean? Why now? These are questions I had them ask themselves and we have gone back to our WHY on our monthly connections calls. These monthly conference calls connect these women in a way that creates a support system so they aren’t crossing the finish line alone.
-
July 2012 – God led me to the book of Nehemiah. The building of a wall is representative of God’s protecting us from the enemy. Unity, leadership, and recognition are all parts of this book that will play a part in my second book called “It is Finished” Lives Transformed by the Race. It will be a collaboration of the women’s stories that participated in the weekend and how God used it in their lives.

September 2012 – WOW Partnership is born to create opportunities for businesses, individuals and organizations to build a support community between partners and our participants producing long-lasting repeat referral based customers. See link for more details. Only 12 spots available!!! http://www.weekendofwins.com/wow-partners.html
I am completely overwhelmed by what God is doing. I don’t feel equipped to do all that He is asking me to do but I move with faith knowing He will provide the words, the people, the businesses and organizations to see this through to the finish.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. 2Tim 4:7
I know many people may not understand as they watch from the sidelines but I’m sure Jesus had the same response by those onlookers all those many years ago. Jesus knew His purpose and I feel as though I know mine. I’m ok if others don’t get it.
I desire to see hearts transformed and if this is the mechanism God wants to use then I am up for the fight.
I invite you to come along, to partner with me. Whether to expose these participants to your business through WOW partnership or to participate as a runner in the weekend, I ask you to join me. Michelle
How are you choosing to be a mechanism for His miracles? Would love to cheer you on and pray for you. Please share!
Thank you for reading our blog. Please consider sharing it with those in your social network. Many Blessings!!!
