I had the privilege of previewing Jeff Goin’s newest book.  I have been following his blog for almost a year and he is an amazing online mentor. We are honored to be bringing him to Florida next April for our 2nd Leadership Unleashed.

Jeff is inspirational, authentic and a gifted writer and encourager. You Are a Writer is a must read for any writer, no matter what your level or aspirations. This small book packs a big punch. In the book, Jeff cheers the reader on with empowering words and realistic instruction.   He is real about the cost of writing and challenges all who write, to do so with passion.

We all have a message and it is the brave ones who will have their message heard.  Jeff is clear in his call to the writer:  Take the first step. Write.  Make a difference.

Platform is key and Jeff teaches the essentials.  Be intentional. Help others. Reach out.  Build relationships. He models this in his everyday life and has been a great asset to my personal writing development.  Jeff is accessible and real and he walks the walk.

This book is packed with practical suggestions and helpful tips, including awesome sample letters for pitching books and articles to publishers. To be a professional writer, you will have to do a lot of footwork and Jeff has laid out a helpful map for you.

Jeff keeps it simple in You Are a Writer, and provides amazing tools to the reader.  I am inspired and ready to write, with passion and gusto!  I am a writer.
