SATURDAY SURPRISES: KONY, Introverts in the church and How to Show Appreciation (by Tammy Bolt Werthem)
I am going to do some Saturday posts, sharing from posts or articles I have read online. In addition, I will use Saturday’s post for book reviews and resources that I am enjoying.
If you have been on your computer at all this week, you have seen the link for the KONY 2012 Video shared by a lot of folks…it has gone viral. Here is a great blog post Some resources on the Invisible Children controversy
There is some controversy over the mission of Invisible Children, mostly related to their financials and a picture of the founders holding big guns in a photograph. So, if you like to be hip on current events and want to sound smart at dinner tonight, read all about it.
Ann Voskamp had a guest post on her blog, “Holy Experience” that was super insightful about introverts in the church. The post is titled “Where do Introverts Fit in the Church? “
Believe it or not, I am more introverted than extroverted. So, I really liked the article. I find myself at times, comparing myself to my “fun and lively” friends. While I enjoy a party or a big event, I find myself in recovery mode when it is concluded. I work hard to be extroverted, when the task requires it of me and even have become somewhat comfortable with public speaking. All glory to God for this one.
Next, I love this post “The Awesome Power of Showing Appreciation “
I found this one on Michael Hyatt’s site. You can find him here: http://michaelhyatt.com/
This is a guest post by Tracy Letzerich, a stay-at-home mom and former strategy-consultant-turned-algebra-teacher. She blogs at Time With Tracy. I love this post for its application. She leaves the reader with a challenge to go and see how showing appreciation makes a difference. It does and I love to be both the giver and receiver of appreciation. We all do….it is in our nature.
